A shuttered car wash in Valley Village is poised to make way for a new mixed-use development. According to plans filed last week with the City of Los Angeles, applicant Yaron Levy has propposed a five-story residential-retail complex on an approximately .65-acre site at 12438-12462 West Chandler Boulevard. The project calls for 70 residential units, 1,750 square feet of ground-floor commercial space and a two-level garage with parking accommodations for up to 80 vehicles. Located adjacent to the Metro Orange Line busway, the low-rise building would stand less than a half-mile west of a station at Laurel Canyon Boulevard. The project is one of numerous residential developments planned in close vicinity to the busway, including a similar 82-unit building from Micropolitan and a larger 329-unit complex proposed by Greystar Real Estate.
