Playa Jefferson, the Westside office complex which hosts blue chip tenants such as engineering firm Arup and advertising agency Omnicom, is adding new space. According to permit filings from the Los Angeles Department of Building and Safety, landlord Vantage Property Investors is planning to add a fifth building to the low-rise campus at 12777 W. Jefferson Boulevard. The proposed three-story structure, which is being designed by Gensler, would contain approximately 49,000 square feet of office space. Elsewhere on the Playa Jefferson campus, construction is already underway on a new parking structure for current and future tenants. The five-story garage is rising at the northeast edge of the property, adjacent to Beatrice Street. Further details about the projects are unclear at this point in time. The proposed expansion of Playa Jefferson highlights the strong demand for office space in the Playa Vista submarket, which has benefited from numerous relocations during the past calendar year. Further east along Jefferson Boulevard, developers Tishman Speyer and Hudson Pacific Properties have attempted to tap into this demand through various ground-up and renovation projects.
