The website of Cal-Coast Development has unveiled new renderings for a proposed mixed-use complex that would rise one block west of Vine Street. The project, located on an approximately two-acre site at 1311 N. Cahuenga Boulevard, would consist of a low-rise structure designed by Los Angeles-based Nadel Architects. According to the $110-million development’s official webpage, plans call for a seven-story building featuring approximately 369 residential units and 2,500 square feet of ground-floor commercial space. Prior information from the Los Angeles Department of City Planning indicates that the project would include a mixture of micro apartments, live-work lofts, and one-, two- and three-bedroom apartments. Future residents would have access to amenities including a fitness center, an outdoor roof terrace, and a two-level underground garage with parking accommodations for up to 567 vehicles and 410 bicycles. Construction of 1311 N. Cahuenga Boulevard was previously slated to begin construction in early 2016. A number of small buildings on the property will be demolished to make way for the project. A significantly larger mixed-use development from Kilroy Realty is slated to begin construction across the street in the near future.
