One block south of the half-finished husk of the Hollywood Target, a new development is planned which would create a multifamily residential complex and a small park. The 1375 St. Andrews Apartments - which is being developed by 1375 St. Andrews, LLC - would consist of a seven-story building featuring 185 studio, one- and two-bedroom apartments above a 1.5-level, 251-car parking garage. The podium-style structure would include public and private open space, including a fitness center, community rooms, two court yards, and a swimming pool. Plans also call for a small park to be built immediately south of the residential complex. The L-shaped development site spans approximately 1.7 acres at the southwest corner of DeLongepre Avenue and St. Andrews Place. Current occupants include a two-story building which houses the Citizens of the World Silver Lake charter school, and a small theater which is operated by the Assistance League of Los Angeles. The apartment building would rise from an L-shaped site at the southwest corner of St. Andrews Place and DeLongepre Avenue. The approximately 1.7-acre property is currently occupied by a collection of one- and two-story buildings, with tenants that include the Citizens of the World Silver Lake charter school and a theater operated by the Assistance League of Los Angeles. According to the project’s initial study, the school will relocate to another site prior to the start of construction, while the theater will be retained as part of the new development. The St. Andrews development is being designed by Los Angeles-based PSL Architects. Architectural renderings portray a modern building with glass treatment on the first and second floors. Construction of the project is expected to commence in 2018 and span approximately 22 months. Required approvals include a site plan review and a zoning administrator’s adjustment.
