Based on aerial photographs taken in Hollywood this past weekend, vertical construction is now underway on a long-delayed hotel development near the Capitol Records Building. The project, known as the Argyle Hotel, is rising from a .44-acre site at 1800 N. Argyle Avenue.  City records indicate that the proposed 16-story hotel tower would approximately 220 guest rooms, in addition to meeting rooms and restaurant space.  Additionally, plans call for fifth-floor swimming pool and a 93-car parking garage with three above-grade levels and one basement level. Previous documents from CRA/LA indicate that Kimpton Hotels - a boutique subsidiary of the InterContinental Hotels Group - will serve as operator.  The Argyle Hotel will be Kimpton’s third establishment in the Los Angeles area, following the Miracle Mile’s Hotel Wilshire and the Hotel Palomar in Beverly Hills. According to permit filings from the Department of Building and Safety, the 184-foot tower is being designed San Diego-based ACRM Architects. The Argyle Hotel is one of three high-rise developments currently planned at the intersection of Yucca Street and Argyle Avenue.
