Documents from the Culver City Planning Division have unveiled renderings of a proposed apartment complex near Metro’s Culver City Station. Los Angeles-based Pine, LLC has proposed the construction of a low-rise building at 3434 Wesley Street, a cul-de-sac to the south of Washington Boulevard. The five-story structure would feature 15 apartments and 14,364 square feet of office and commercial space above underground parking for 69 vehicles. The proposed development would set aside one residential unit for very low income households, and provide a mixture of gallery space and a small café. A project description by design architect LOHA notes that the mixture of studio, one- and two-bedroom units would be clustered into three horizontal bands, divided with strips of common green space. The facade would be clad with perforated and solid metal panels, arranged to give texture to the building. A timeline and budget for the project have not been revealed. The proposed five-story building joins a slew of upcoming developments adjacent to the Expo Line, including Ivy Station and a mixed-use project which would replace the Surfas Culinary District. It also sits directly across the street from Access Culver City, a residential-retail complex which was completed earlier this year.
