Aerial images captured by architectural photographer Hunter Kerhart showcase construction progress on 400 Spectrum Center Drive, an upcoming office tower in Irvine. The project, which is being developed by the Irvine Company, is rising from an approximately eight-acre site across the street from the Irvine Spectrum shopping and entertainment complex. Plans call for a 20-story, 323-foot tall building containing 426,000 square feet of office space, to be accompanied by a dedicated parking garage. The new development is motivated by the success of 200 Spectrum Center Drive, an identical office tower which the Irvine Company developed on a property located two blocks west. The building, which was completed earlier this year, is already 43% leased to tenants such as Mazda North American Operations and the co-working group WeWork. Renderings from New York-based architecture firm Pei Cobb Freed portray 400 Spectrum Center as a sleek glass structure, which when completed in Fall 2017, will hold the title of Orange County’s tallest building. Other ongoing developments near the Irvine Spectrum include a 14-story Marriott Hotel tower which recently broke ground one block north of the Irvine Company project.
