Two Large Apartment Complexes Planned in Koreatown

Jamison Services, one of Southern California’s largest private office landlords, is preparing to add two new mixed-use developments to its vast portfolio. Over the past few weeks, the Koreatown-based real estate firm has filed plans with the City of Los Angeles for the construction of new residential-retail complexes near separate stations on Metro’s Purple Line subway. The first, slated for an approximately one-acre site at 427 S. Normandie Avenue, would consist of a seven-story building featuring 224 apartments and a 373-car parking garage.

Major Development Underway on Olympic Boulevard

Jamison Services Inc., one of the Southern California’s largest office landlords, has broken ground on a mixed-use development on the southern edge of Koreatown. The residential-retail complex, now rising from a 1.5-acre site at 3060 W. Olympic Boulevard, will consist of a a seven-story building feature 226 one- and two-bedroom apartments. Plans also call for a swimming pool, a fitness center, two rooftop decks and over 16,000 square feet of ground-level commercial space.

Hampton Inn & Suites to Rise in Koreatown

A proposal to build a new Hampton Inn & Suites in Koreatown took a step forward last month, when it received the approval of the Los Angeles City Council. The six-story hotel would rise along 3rd Street between Kingsley Drive and Harvard Boulevard, replacing a series of small commercial buildings. According to plans submitted to the City Council, the project would feature 171 guest rooms above a two-level underground garage with parking accommodations for 103 automobiles and 26 bicycles.

LOHA-Designed Multifamily Building Nears Completion

Exterior work is nearly complete for a new multifamily residential development on the Pico Union - Koreatown border. The five-story wood-frame building, located at 1038 S. Mariposa Avenue, consists of 32 residential units above with an underground parking garage and a rooftop amenity deck. Designed by Lorcan O’Herlihy Architects, the project is s described as “deriv[ing] from a pure square exruded upward to fit tight on its lot.“ The building’s exterior walls curve inward, while its balconies protrude outward to provide unique city views.

Multifamily Development Breaks Ground in Koreatown

Jamison Services, Inc., one of the city’s largest private landlords, has broken ground on another residential development in Koreatown. The company’s latest project, located at 535 S. Kingsley Drive, will consist of a podium-type structure featuring 72 one- and two-bedroom apartments above a 92-car parking garage. Plans also call for a number of communal amenities, including a fitness center, a community room, a roof deck, and an outdoor swimming pool. The building, designed by Santa Monica’s Killefer Flammang Architects, will be clad with a combination of white and gray metal panels and warm-toned porcelain tile.
