20th Century Fox Studios Plans Expansion

While new apartment towers remake the Century City skyline, the neighborhood’s namesake movie studio is poised to embark on a major expansion of its campus at 10201 W. Pico Boulevard. An early December case filing from the Los Angeles Department of City Planning indicates that 20th Century Fox Studios intends to add upwards of 1.1-million square feet of new development to its 52.9-acre lot. According to LADCP records, the proposed additions could include a mixture of creative office space, speciality stage space, facility supoprt and amenities space and utility buildings.

Century City Apartment Tower Nears Completion

An official leasing website has revealed final renderings for Ten Thousand, a 40-story apartment tower which recently topped out in Century City. The project from Miami-based developer Crescent Heights consists of shimmering glass-clad structure featuring 283 two- and three-bedroom apartments. According to a recent report from the Los Angeles Times, the building will come replete with an over-the-top array of hotel-like amenities, including butlers, laundry and cleaning services, grocery delivery, and a 24-hour concierge.

Fox Studios Plans for Future Development

In anticipation of future employment growth, Twentieth Century Fox has begun laying the groundwork for a potential 1.1-million-square-foot expansion of its studio lot in Century City. The Fox Studios Master Plan, as detailed in an initial study published by the Los Angeles Department of City Planning, would establish a general framework for development on the 59-acre property over the next two decades. Although future plans are contingent on market conditions, the expansion project is expected to include the following components: The proposed master plan, drafted by the global architecture firm Gensler, would be implemented at six underutilized sites throughout the studio lot.
