Mini Multi-Family Project for Del Rey

Let the stucco rise on the Westside. Earlier this year, a nondescript single family home at the corner of Centinela Avenue and Culver Drive was unceremoniously demolished. Fast forward to December, and an equally nondescript five-story structure containing twelve rental units has risen in its place. The apartments are located just a short drive from a variety of Westside activity and employment hubs, including Venice, Playa Vista, Culver City and Santa Monica.

New Park to Start Construction Near Ballona Creek

The park-poor Del Rey neighborhood is about to get a $3 million infusion of green space, courtesy of the Mountains Recreation and Conservation Authority (MRCA). According to signs recently posted across the street from Marina Middle School, the long-delayed Milton Street Park is scheduled to break ground this summer. The linear, 1.2-acre green space would replace a currently vacant property along the banks of Ballona Creek, owned by the Baldwin Hills Regional Conservation Authority (BHRCA) According to designs from the Downtown-based SWA Group, Milton Street Park would offer bird watching platforms, outdoor seating, picnic areas, and enhancements to the popular Ballona Creek bike path.

Del Rey Getting Two Low-Rise Apartment Complexes

Take a quick trip out to the oft-forgotten Del Rey neighborhood, where the Beverly Hills-based Lido Equities Group is working on plans for a pair of low-rise apartment complexes. The first of the two developments, a five-story building designed by Shubin + Donaldson Architects, will replace a cluster of mid-century buildings at 11811 Culver Boulevard. Each of the project’s 27 loft-style apartments will come complete with concrete floors, designer finishes, and private balconies.

Multi-Family Rental Projects Rising in Marina Del Rey

After stalling out amid the global recession, fancy residential developments are once again rising in Marina Del Rey’s so-called “Arts District.“ At 4044 S. Redwood Avenue, construction is nearing completion on a 22-unit low-rise apartment building. The four-story edifice, designed by Venice-based architecture firm Dex Studio, features private balconies and a bright turquoise panels along its western facade. The new residential complex replaces two single family homes, an increasingly rare commodity along the Culver City - Marina Del Rey border.

Condominium Complex Rising in Del Rey

Construction is underway on a new condominium complex at 4140 Glencoe Avenue in the Del Rey loft district. The five-story development, dubbed X67, is being developed by Beverly-Hills-based real estate firm ETCO Homes. As indicated by its name, the low-rise structure will include 67 loft-style condominiums, divided between one- and two-bedroom units. Designs from Bucilla Group Architecture call for a slew of residential amenities, including a fitness room, a community pool, and a dipping pool with lounge chairs and cabana-style seating.

Apartments Pushing Dirt in Del Rey

Construction is underway on a new multi-family residential complex in Del Rey. The upcoming development, located at 11400 Culver Boulevard, will consist of a four-story structure featuring 21 residential units, a two-level underground parking garage and a rooftop amenity deck. The apartments, which will consist of one- and two-bedroom units, are being built with condo-level finishes. An architectural rendering of the finished building shows a modern low-rise building featuring balconies and exterior landscaping.

Construction Forging Ahead for Del Rey Apartments

Construction continues in Del Rey for a pair of multifamily residential complexes from the Beverly Hills-based Lido Equities Group. The first of the two developments, located at 11811 Culver Boulevard, is a five-story structure featuring 27 loft-style apartments above a parking garage. The building, designed by architecture firm Shubin + Donaldson, will include communal amenities such as a gym, a laundry center and an entertainment lounge. Units will come appointed with concrete floors, valuted ceilings, balconies and high-quality fixtures.

Del Rey Loft District Adding More Apartments and Condos

Over the past two decades, Del Rey’s Loft District, once an expanse of industrial-zoned land, has gradually transformed into a thriving residential community. As the number of remaining development sites dwindles, three new projects providing three different types of housing gradually take form. X67 X67, located at 4140 Glencoe Avenue, is an upcoming condominium complex from Beverly Hills-based developer ETCO Homes. The project, which includes 67 one- and two-bedroom condominiums, was designed by Bucilla Group Architecture.

Linear Park Opens Along Ballona Creek

After a mysterious five-month delay, Del Rey’s long-awaited Milton Street Park has opened along the banks of Ballona Creek. The approximately $3 million project was funded by the Mountains Recreation & Conservation Authority, which has worked for years to improve Ballona Creek and its popular bike path through the addition of new fencing, landscaping drinking fountains and benches. According to the website of landscape architecture firm SWA, the approximately 1.2-acre linear park is highlighted by green-design elements such as recycled building materials, native foliage and flow-through planters.

More Mixed-Use Planned in Del Rey

California Landmark Group (CLG), a Los Angeles-based real estate firm, is cooking up plans for yet another mixed-use development in the Del Rey Loft District. According to an environmental report published by the Los Angeles Department of City Planning, the company’s latest project would rise from a T-shaped site at 4040 S. Del Rey Avenue. Currently, two alternatives for the site are under consideration. Under the first option, which is represented in the renderings below, plans call for the construction of a four-to-seven-story structure which would contain 250 residential units, 1,700 square feet of commercial office space and a 300-square-foot neighborhood-serving coffee bar.
